Terms & Conditions

Charges You Might Pay

  • You are responsible for paying all parking fees, ULEZ charges, Congestion charges, and toll road fees. These will be added to your journey price.
  • For Meet & Greet Services, if our driver waits for you after arriving at your pick-up spot, you will be charged £16 for every hour of waiting.
  • For airport pickups, our driver will meet you 45 minutes after your flight lands, or at an agreed time. This helps keep parking and waiting costs low.
  • The first 45 minutes after your flight lands are free. After that, we charge £16 per hour for waiting time.
  • If your journey has many pick-ups or drop-offs, or if you need a specific vehicle size (for seating or luggage), the price might change.
  • If you make an extra stop during your journey, there might be an additional charge (starting from £5).

Child Car Seats

  • By law, private hire  vehicles do not have to carry child car seats.
  • We can take your child’s car seat for your journey and keep it safe at our office for your return trip. Please label your child’s car seats with your contact details.

How We Handle Bookings

  • We use a system to check for flight delays.
  • We will send you an SMS message when your vehicle arrives for added security.
  • We aim to reply to all emails within 24 hours.
  • For urgent questions or changes to your booking, please call our office.
  • Our prices are for direct trips. Passengers should be ready to travel at the booked time and place.
  • We will confirm your booking by phone or email and give you a reference number. Your booking is not accepted until you get this confirmation and reference number.

Waiting Times

  • At all airports, you get 45 minutes of free waiting time after your flight lands. After that, we charge £16 per hour.
  • If we pick you up from a home or business address in London, we allow 10 minutes of free waiting time from your booked time. After that, we charge £16 per hour.
  • If we pick you up from any other UK address, the driver will wait for up to 30 minutes after your booked time. If we cannot reach you (by ringing the doorbell and calling your phone), the driver will leave, and you will still pay the full cost.

Cancellations and Refunds

  • You must cancel your booking at least 12 hours before your scheduled pick-up time.
  • If you cancel less than 3 hours before a pick-up from a postcode, you will pay the full booking price.
  • You will get a refund if:
    • You cancel your booking 12 hours before your pick-up time.
    • You miss your flight and tell us in advance by phone or email, and get a cancellation number.
  • You will not get a refund if:
    • You book the car for the wrong date, wrong flight number, or give us other incorrect information.
    • You leave the airport or any other agreed pick-up spot without telling us.
  • We can cancel any booking with at least 3 hours’ notice.

Extra Charges on Certain Dates

    • There will be an extra charge on December 24, 25, 26, 31, and January 1.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is securely stored on Autocab’s UK-based cloud platform. Abbots Cars accesses this data through Autocab’s secure system. We do not store payment information ourselves.

5. Legal Grounds for Processing
 

We process your data based on:

  • Contract – to provide taxi services
  • Legal obligation – to comply with transport and licensing law
  • Legitimate interest – for fraud prevention and service improvement
  • Consent – where you have opted into marketing

6. Sharing Your Data
 

We may share your information with:

  • Licensed drivers and operators (to fulfill your booking)
  • Payment processors (via Autocab)
  • Law enforcement or local authorities (if legally required)
 
We do not sell or rent your data.
 
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
 

We retain data for as long as required by law:

  • Booking data: Up to 6 years
  • Marketing preferences: Until you opt out
  • Payment data: Managed securely by Autocab

8. Your Rights
 

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccuracies
  • Request deletion (where legally possible)
  • Withdraw marketing consent
